1. This full-length documentary. This guy (a comedy fan) talks about why people are offended by certain kinds of comedy. I agree wholeheartedly with some of what he says and disagree with some of it. Which is fine. Trigger warning: offensive language (but he argues a solid point about why he uses it…I can’t even explain this. Just watch it if you are at all a comedy fan).
2. This Marc Johns print. I finally bought it (on sale!) after eyeing it for a very long time.
3. This podcast. Pete Holmes interviews “Science Mike McHargue” on Holmes’ podcast “You Made It Weird” (one of my favourite podcasts ever) and they talk about the brain, Christianity, atheism and science. Fascinating.
4. This article. It’s a compilation of tweets by Norm Macdonald telling some of the backstory behind a sketch for SNL’s 40th anniversary show. Macdonald is such a compelling storyteller and has taken to telling stories one 140 character tweet at a time. It’s like Serial. But on Twitter. He will flood your Twitter feed with brilliance.
5. This post. My friend Elizabeth explains that you don’t need to write down your story in order to share it.
