If you’re Canadian, you might be aware that our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, really digs cats. Like, a lot. Do a Google image search of “Stephen Harper + cats” and you’ll see what I mean. Dude loves him some kitties. He’s all about taking care of them. That should be a warm cuddly thing to think about, but instead, pictures of our PM and kittens creep me the heck out. Something about this man stroking a furry creature gives me the heebie jeebies. There even used to be a cat sanctuary outside the Parliament building in Ottawa. I don’t know if that existed before Harper, but it’s still mega creepy. Cages, and gross cats and the like.
Now I’m all for taking care of animals, but I just find it odd that a political figure takes so many pictures with felines. It’s become a weird obsession of mine. I created a Pinterest board solely for this topic. I think about Stephen Harper and cats far more often than I should.
Also something I like thinking about more often than what is deemed normal: involving people in jokes and never telling them they’re in the middle of a joke.
So naturally, every time a friend has a birthday, I find great pleasuring in posting a picture of Stephen Harper with kittens on his or her Facebook wall with the caption: “Happy Birthday!”
That’s it. That’s the whole joke. It’s not even that great. Happy Birthday, Everyone!
How do your friends wish you a Happy Birthday? Does the leader of your country like cats?
